The Waco suburb is best known for George W. Bush\'s Prairie Chapel Ranch, located just outside the town. Crawford is the site of many anti-Iraq War demonstrations including Camp Casey, when Cindy Sheehan purchased 5 acres just outside of Crawford and intended to stay until she is granted a face-to-face meeting with the President.Mom of soldier killed in Iraq stages protest near Bush\'s ranch However, most of the Crawford residents are conservative and support the Iraq War. This is demonstrated by the construction of "Camp Reality" in the third week of demonstrating. It was located in a ditch across the road from Camp Casey and was set up to oppose Sheehan.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/26/AR2005082600405.html Bush is not, however, a Texas or Crawford native; he is a native of Connecticut who purchased a ranch in Crawford as president in later life.
